Start with the implementation of the project “Jed(a)i of a new time: MED-AI”

Center for innovations and digital education has started with the implementation of the project “Jed(a)i of a new time: MED-AI” financed by the US Embassy in North Macedonia. The project aims to integrate AI and media literacy education in primary schools by establishing collaborative, interactive and engaging learning environments. This project will address the challenges of cybersecurity, media literacy, and disinformation by developing students’ computational thinking, understanding of AI algorithms, critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, communication, collaboration, and teamwork.

The project will be implemented in multiple phases, starting with the development of training materials, lesson plans, and activities focused on AI and media literacy. This will be followed by workshops for a core group of teachers, who will then disseminate the knowledge and resources to primary schools. Students will engage in hands-on projects, developing use cases and open resources, culminating in a national competition to showcase their work. The final phase involves workshops to help teachers integrate the project results into various subjects’ curricula. The project aims to involve at least 20 teachers and 1000 students, fostering a collaborative learning environment that enhances digital, AI, and media literacy skills among primary school students.

Open educational resources: training materials for students, case studies and examples, activity plans and guidance for their implementation in a classroom environment, will be created and shared with educational community.
