Maja Videnovik was part of the MOOC MLCE: Media Literacy – Empowering Educators for the Next Digital Decade. As an expert in the field of media literacy, she was involved in recording videos that were featured during the course. The first video focused on what young people need to learn in order to use generative AI safely and responsibly. In this video, she discussed data literacy, the principles of machine learning, and creative integrity. In the second video, she shared tips with other teachers on how to teach media literacy skills, with an emphasis on promoting critical thinking, fostering digital literacy skills, and empowering students through media creation.
Maja has also participated in the TeachMeet event as part of this MOOC which was a valuable opportunity to share experiences and ideas with a vibrant community of educators from around the world. She presented on the topic “Innovative Approaches to Teaching Media Literacy,” highlighting creative strategies for developing students’ critical thinking, digital citizenship, and analytical skills. The presentation focused on the integration of storytelling, game-based learning, and the use of peer learning approach to make media literacy lessons more engaging and impactful.
