Maja Videnovik was recently a guest on the television show “Our Podium” on MRT, where she discussed the importance of digital literacy and the need to properly guide students in their use of digital technologies. She highlighted the numerous benefits of integrating digital tools into education, emphasizing how they can create interactive learning environments that boost student interest and motivation in the educational process.
During the discussion, Maja showcased the use of platforms like Scratch and Micro:bit as effective tools for developing students’ critical thinking and problem-solving skills. She stressed the importance of connecting learning activities to real-life situations, helping students see the relevance and application of their knowledge.
Maja also shared her experiences from participating in the Fulbright TEA Media Literacy program, underlining the growing need for media literacy education and the innovative ways artificial intelligence can be incorporated into teaching practices.
A significant part of the conversation focused on strategies for deepening students’ skills in cybersecurity — an area essential for safe and effective use of the digital world.

Special attention was given to the latest project led by the Center for Innovations and Digital Education Dig-ED, titled Simulation game-based Hands-on Instruction for Enhancing Cybersecurity Learning and Development (SHIELD). The project is granted within the call for KnowCyber Grants for the Western Balkans civil society organisations, from e-Governance Academy (eGA).
This groundbreaking project is focused on developing interactive and engaging learning environments where students can build essential cybersecurity skills through game-based learning. By participating in carefully designed educational games and activities, students not only learn how to recognize online threats and practice safe behavior but also enhance their critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities. Through the project, students are empowered to become more responsible and informed digital citizens, ready to navigate the challenges of the modern digital landscape with confidence and resilience.
