The second online workshop for the project “Jed(a) of a New Time: MED-AI” took place on December 23, 2024. The session emphasized the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in education, particularly in fostering media literacy. Participants were introduced with frameworks concerning teachers’ AI-related competencies. Various AI tools and their integration in educational settings was presented. Additional tools and resources were shared, encouraging further research and thinking about their implementation. The workshop also addressed the ethical use of AI in education.
Key concepts and principles of media literacy education were introduced, accompanied by discussions on the intersection of AI and media literacy. Participants were introduced with the proposed methodological approach, its educational significance, and potential topics for classroom implementation. The session detailed the process of designing lesson plans aimed at enhancing students’ media literacy and AI skills, supported by examples of initially developed plans and classroom activities utilizing AI tools.
The workshop concluded with agreements on the next steps in the co-development phase, including communication strategies and methods for sharing materials.
