Showcasing the NELCA Project

The recent event organized by Dig-Ed focusing on innovation and excellence in education provided an excellent platform for showcasing the NELCA project – Creating the Network of Excellent ULCA Schools,

NELCA is designed to support schools across Europe in adopting the ULCA model (Upgrade with Learner Centered Approach), with the goal of fostering inclusive, innovative, and student-focused learning environments. By emphasizing learner agency, intercultural understanding, and collaborative teaching practices, the project empowers educators to rethink traditional approaches and place students at the center of the learning process.

During the event, project team members presented:

  • An overview of NELCA’s objectives and structure
  • The ULCA framework and its application in participating schools
  • Project’s activities, including recent trainings on “Building visions in schools” and “Building excellent schools”
  • Reflections from educators and students involved in the project
  • Establishment of International Association of Innovative Teachers & Managers in Education (IAITME)
  • Opportunities for future collaboration within the NELCA network

The presentation was met with strong interest from educators, school leaders, and stakeholders, particularly around strategies for integrating inclusive, learner-centered methods into everyday teaching.

As the partner organization, Dig-Ed continues to support the development and dissemination of the NELCA model, helping schools grow into hubs of excellence through shared resources, international exchange, and innovation in education.
