New school year: ready for the first 2021-2022 scientix activities?

With the summer break finished and batteries fully recharged, it is time for the new school year to start. Scientix wants to welcome you, teachers, to this 2021-2022 academic year. We look forward to working with you once more and hope to see you in our Scientix Ambassadors panel, online courses and more!

From Scientix, we are already planning and getting ready to launch many exciting activities that will help you catch students’ attention and keep them engaged:

First, Scientix is looking for dynamic, motivated and creative teachers to join the Scientix Ambassadors Teachers’ Panel to support innovation in STEM education in your countries. Currently, Scientix has 849 active Ambassadors and is looking to expand with 200 additional teachers. The call is open to teachers from any country in the world, and the deadline to apply is the 23 November 2021 at 12:00 PM (CEST). You can find the requirements here on the Scientix portal.

The THREE Rs MOOC rerun brought to you by Scientix and the EC’s Joint Research Centre will start on 13 September 2021. It aims to improve the welfare of animals used in science by replacing animals with other methods, wherever possible, by using fewer animals in research and safety testing, and by minimising discomfort. This MOOC is for teachers coming from all subjects and levels, and upon completion, you will receive a digital course certificate and badge. You can register by clicking here.

The Integrated STEM teaching MOOCs rerun organised by Scientix and STE(A)M IT will take place from 25 October 2021. With these courses you will have the opportunity to bring your teaching to the next level by mastering the contextualisation of STEM knowledge. You will also be able to explore exemplary STE(A)M integrated lesson plans created and tested by other teachers. Upon completion, you will receive a special certificate. If you are a primary school teacher, you can register here. If you are a secondary school teacher, please register here.

This is only the beginning; more upcoming activities are planned. So as not to miss out on this and more, we invite you to subscribe to the Scientix Digest newsletter. Besides, you can follow us on the Scientix Twitter account, and join the “Science Teachers in Europe” Facebook group. Once more, welcome back and we wish you a wonderful school year.
