New call for science students who want to become teachers at international schools

The University of Applied Sciences in the northern Netherlands (Groningen) is looking for the next batch of students to join their International Teacher Education for Secondary Schools (ITESS). This Bachelor’s degree, launched last year, aims to prepare students for a meaningful job and an adventurous career in the rapidly growing world of international schools.

For this purpose, the ITESS has designed a successful and unique science curriculum with integrated pedagogy throughout the whole programme. The degree is built on students’ previous scientific knowledge and focuses on training didactic skills to be able to teach scientific concepts. In addition, students are continuously challenged to address global issues in their future classrooms and to put their knowledge into practice.

The university offers an integrated science and teaching curriculum with:

  • Unique, four-year bachelor programme aimed specifically at international education;
  • Growth into a highly qualified and world-wise teacher, ready to work at various types of international secondary schools;
  • Teaching practice at international schools in the Netherlands, Europe, and beyond
  • Great job prospects in a rapidly expanding field
