Scientix has a new online course, inspired by this year’s “STEM for All” STEM Discovery Campaign, helping Early Childhood educators, Primary and Secondary school teachers to enhance their subjects with STEM topics.
The STEM Out of the Box MOOC will help teachers to learn how to integrate STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) in their non-STEM lessons (Humanities, Arts, Literature and Management) and help students develop deep scientific, mathematic, and problem-solving skills.
Teachers will explore practical STEM classroom activities and ideas, rooted in real-world problems. The course will guide them through exemplary STEM lesson plans created and tested by other teachers, resources, and challenges to increase students’ knowledge and skills needed for the future.
The course is organised around the principle of peer learning, with course content designed to stimulate reflection and discussion so that participants can learn from each other’s experiences and ideas. To complete the course, participants are required to submit a learning scenario and review their peers’ work. To facilitate collaboration, a closed Facebook group has been set up.
