We are proud to share that our project, “SHIELD: Transforming Cybersecurity Education through AI, Storytelling, and Gamification”, has been recognised as a Laureate in the TEACHER TRAINING AWARD during the European Competition of the AI for Education Awards 2026 (AI4EDU26).

The AI for Education Awards, organized by d-teach online school, recognize impactful and responsible uses of Artificial Intelligence in K–12e education. The awards celebrate initiatives that successfully combine innovation, pedagogical value, and ethical responsibility. The Teacher Training Award specifically highlights projects that empower educators to integrate AI into teaching and learning in a confident, responsible, and meaningful way.

This recognition acknowledges Dig-Ed’s commitment to promoting innovative and human-centred approaches to digital education. Through the SHIELD project, implemented with the support of the e-Governance Academy, we combine AI-supported learning, digital storytelling, gamification, and teacher training to strengthen cybersecurity education in K-12 classrooms.
SHIELD aims to equip teachers with practical methodologies and resources for teaching cybersecurity while helping students develop critical digital competences, ethical awareness, critical thinking skills, and responsible online behaviour. The project demonstrates how Artificial Intelligence can be used not as a replacement for teachers, but as a powerful tool that supports educators, enriches learning experiences, and contributes to safer digital environments for young people.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the experts behind the SHIELD project – Maja Videnovik, Vladimir Trajkovik, and Mirjana S. Jankulovska – whose dedication, expertise, and commitment have have played a key role in the project’s success and this important recognition.

This award serves as both an honour and a motivation to continue developing innovative educational solutions that support teachers and learners in navigating the opportunities and challenges of the digital age. We are honoured to contribute to the international dialogue on responsible AI innovation in education.
